ABOUT US

Our journey began in 2000 under the name Mekkah Fragrances. Later, we renamed our business to Zakat Fragrances in honor of our beloved dog, Zakat, who was family to us.

This brand was born out of both necessity and passion. Back then, my job at the grocery store wasn’t enough to support my family. A close friend introduced me to fragrance oils, and with nothing but determination, we started selling them wherever we could—at bus stops, on public transportation, in bars, and at community events. We carried oils in a simple case, incense and soaps in backpacks, and grew one customer at a time.

Over the years, our products expanded into lotions, body butters, sprays, and more—all carefully crafted with health and quality in mind. At 29, I faced breast cancer, and that battle made me even more determined to create products that are safe, nourishing, and made with ingredients you can trust.

When I say we, I mean my family and friends who have supported this dream since day one. They never asked for payment, only joking that when we hit millions, they’ll collect. Even my 87-year-old mom helps—she used to bag incense, and she still proudly places labels on bags when we vend. She even created her own custom fragrance, Mz. Doz.

Today, Zakat Fragrances has grown from street vending to reaching customers all over the world online. But our values haven’t changed. We are proudly woman-owned, family-driven, and dedicated to making top-quality fragrances and skin-loving products that you can feel good about using.

Our promise: every product is made with care, integrity, and love—because what you put on your body matters.
